Professor Snjezana Milicevic, MD, PhD, was born on June 2, 1964 in Sarajevo where she graduated primary school, secondary grammar school and Faculty of Medicine. She finished specialization of Urology in 1996. The Ministry of Health of health of Republic Srpska sent her for further training in the field of urology to the AKH hospital in Vienna in 1997 for six months, at the Department of Urology mentored by professor Michael Marberger, where she gained additional knowledge, especially in the treatment of prostate disease (benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate cancer) and supravesical derivation of urine. The Ministry of Health has also sent her to Austria in 1997, where she took part in Training program on Project Implementation in the time interval of several weeks. She has been in Germany, Regional Hospital Detmold for several months and after that in Munich, Stadtische Kliniken Munchen Harlaching where she gained further knowledge too. Professor Milicevic finished Postgraduate Study in 2000 with final thesis concerning the surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and Doctoral Studies in 2004 with doctoral thesis also about surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia “Analysis of the effectiveness of surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia with methods of transurethral resection of the prostate and open prostatectomy”. She was coordinator of an open, prospective, multicentric national study entitled “The impact of tamsulosin on the detrusor in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia”. She was proposing and the holder of the approved projects conducted by Health Insurance Fund, which were related to early detection of testicular cancer and education of the population and the medical staff of Donor Network RS-B&H. She was an active participant in numerous European and national conferences, symposiums, congresses presenting the work of national Urology. Also, she was actively involved as invited speaker and session chairman at various conferences worldwide in the field of urology. Now, she works at the Clinic of Urology, Clinical Center University of Banja Luka, where she is head of Department, Deputy Chief and then Head of the Clinic. She is a president of the Association of Urologists at the state level since 2006 and a national coordinator of the Donor Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Republic of Srpska. She is a member of European Association of Urology (EAU), Chamber of Medical Doctors of Serbia, Society of Serbian Medical Doctors and Donor Network of B&H. She has also worked at Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka since 1998 as an assistant, assistant professor, associate professor and as full professor of Surgery. She is reviewer in numerous domestic and international Journals. She has published numerous professional and scientific papers. She has published two monographs: “Benign prostatic hyperplasia” and “Urgent conditions in urology”. Additionally, she is co-author of 8 books.
