Professor Abdulah Kucukalic, MD, PhD, graduated at Faculty of medicine of Sarajevo University in 1974. In 1981 he earned diploma of specialist in neuropsychiatry; in 1995 PhD degree. Former Chief of Department of Psychiatry of the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo from 2002 till 2015. He was Full professor at the Medical school University of Sarajevo from 2004-2015; Chief of board of neurology, psychiatry and medical psychology at the Medical school University of Sarajevo from 2002-2015. Present position: from 2016. retired professor of neuropsychiatry. Publications: more than 300 peer reviewed articles; about 11 edited or written books; hundreds of invited lectures at international and domestic meetings. Supervisor of the most valuable MSc and PhD thesis in the field of neuropsychiatry; cited 883 times in Google scholar bases. Awards, honors and achievements: participated and coordinated in one FP5 and two FP6 international projects funded by the European comission; coordinated one international project funded by DAAD. Received an award from the Medical school University of Sarajevo for sucessfull achievements in 2007; Award from the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo for important achievements and development; Award for outstanding achievements in the field of science in 2005-2006 from the Marquis Who’s Who Publications Board, USA; Award of the International Biographical Centre Cambridge for International Health Professional of the Year in 2005. Founder and president of the Association of biological psychiatry in FBiH; President and vice president of Association of Psychiatry in BiH; Coordinator for mental health in FBiH and representative for mental health at the WHO for two years; Member of the scientific board in the field of neuropsychiatry at ANUBiH. He participated in the founding of Academy of Medical Sciences of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2009.
