Professor Halima Resic was born in Priboj, Serbia. She lived in Belgrade until 1992., where she completed her education including elementary school, secondary school and Medical Faculty at the University of Belgrade. She undertook clinical fellowship in nephrology in the Clinical Center of Belgrade. Professor Resic finished her postgraduate studies also at the University of Belgrade in 1987 on the topic of Nephrotic syndrome. She obtained her PhD degree in 2001 also on the topic of correlation between clinical presentation and histimorphological findings in nephrotic syndrome. Professor Resic worked at the Clinical Centre of Belgrade from 1972. to 1992. In 1993. she worked at Marmara University of Istanbul. Also, in the period from 1994. to 1996. she took part in projects for refugees in Munich with the support of the the Ministry of health of city Munich. From 1996. till 2019. professor Resic worked at the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo, where she was head of the Clinic of Hemodialysis. She became a professor at the Medical faculty of the University of Sarajevo in 2013. Professor Resić published about 180 professional and scientific papers in relevant journals. She is a active participant and organizer of several national and international congresses, and invited lecturer in over 50 different international and national congresses in Nephrology. She is quoted in a lot of world nephrology articles, her Google Scholar H-index is 14 with 833 citations. She has published 11 books and monographs and in her career she obtained many international awards for work in the field of nephrology. She received the status of ERA-EDTA distinguished follow for activities helping the Association in pursuing its goals, and also Pioneer Award from ISN in 2019. Professor Resic is President of BANTAO society, President of Mediterian kidney society, President of the Society of Nephrology, Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also President of Donors Network of Bosnia and Hezegovina. She is a member of different nephrology professional societies as ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association) and ISN (International Society of Nephrology). She became a member of Committee of Sister Renal Center by ISN 2019-2021.
