Professor Zlata Kundurovic, MD, PhD, was born in Sarajevo in the family of intellectuals (father – medical doctor, and mother – judge). She graduated elementary and high school in Sarajevo. Graduated at the Faculty of Dentistry in Sarajevo 1968. Also graduated at the Medical Faculty in Sarajevo. Completed Master’s degree at the Medical Faculty in Sarajevo. Completed Doctorate at the Medical Faculty in Sarajevo. During whole professional life, from 1970-2010, she worked at the Institute of Histology and Embryology, Medical Faculty in Sarajevo. She passed all phases of elections in to the academic titles of assistant to full professor at the University of Sarajevo. She is an author and co-author of more than 120 published papers, as well as several textbooks. She has received numerous academic and community awards and recognitions. Proclaimed as a woman of the year in the field of science for 2000 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Member of many international committees in the field of science and health. Also a member of the EU Pineal Society, DAAD and BHAAAS (Bosnia-Herzegovina – American Academy of Arts and Sciences).
